The Red Ants ran into a familiar foe against Macedonian Christian Academy at home. This year was another story as the last two years the Red Ants had dominated the Lions in their last two meetings.

The young Red Ants team could not contain the Lions attack to the basket, and struggled to get off their shots on the bigger team this time around.

The Lions ran away with the game early in the first half and never looked back keeping their unbeaten streak alive, and extending it to 8-0 with their 69-30 win on the road in Progreso.

Macedonia’s big man William Ashley helped lift his team to victory by grabbing offensive rebounds, and finishing in the paint. On the deffensive end the Red Ants struggled with him between the basket contesting the Red Ant’s shots.

Ashley finished with 16 points, a two handed drop step slam dunk and multiple block shots and rebounds. His teammate, Ethan Gonzalez dropped 29 points to lead all scorers in the contest.

Scoring for the Red Ants were Jerry with 16 points. Julio picked up six points, John and Juan each scored three, and Ivan scored two.

The Red Ants will be back on the court against La Villa at home. Tip off is at 7:30 p.m. on Friday Nov. 28. The Macedonian Lions play at home on Saturday Nov. 29 at 6:30 p.m. against Presbyterian Pan American.
