
SpaceX’s Starship, took off for a second test flight on Saturday but broke off communication after ascending to a height of almost 90 miles above Earth. According to engineers, they think there was an automatic detonation.
The almost 400-foot-tall craft is being constructed for NASA in order to transport astronauts to the moon and possibly Mars in the future.
SpaceX attempted to launch its fully built Starship rocket and spaceship from its South Texas facility early on Saturday for the second time. When the rocket swerved off track, an onboard detonation system caused the vehicle to explode, ending the first test flight on April 20.
The Federal Aviation Administration and SpaceX have been looking into the incident ever since.
